Apostle Talks of Life and Death in Latter-day Saint Faith

SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Russell M. Nelson, an apostle and former heart surgeon, spoke this week with the Deseret Morning News regarding life and death, and how the two are a part of God’s plan.

Elder Nelson provides insight from his perspective as a medical doctor and as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles — the second-highest governing body of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He explains, "You’d better understand that you cannot participate fully in God’s great plan of happiness without enduring the experience that we call death."
