Latter-day Saints in United Kingdom and Utah Perform Together in Musical

Faith, the Musical, tells the story of the Willie handcart company through journal excerpts and song

Two groups that rehearsed 7,000 miles apart from each other have come together to produce a musical in the Conference Center Theater on Temple Square.

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the United Kingdom and Utah are performing in Faith, the Musical, which tells the story of the Willie handcart company through journal excerpts and song. This handcart company was composed of approximately 500 men, women and children who set out from Iowa City in June 1856, responding to Brigham Young’s call to join other Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake Valley. (See more information about the Martin and Willie handcart companies.)

Faith, the Musical — the product of four years of planning and preparation — was recently featured by KSL-TV’s Carole Mikita. Watch her story below.
