2. President Monson Announces New Temple in Payson, Utah - News Release

SALT LAKE CITY 25 January 2010 A new temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to be built in Payson, Utah, it was announced today by Church President Thomas S. Monson.

The new temple will help meet the needs of a growing Church membership in the area and will ease the heavy use of the Provo temple, which is one of the busiest in the Church. The Payson temple will bring to 15 the number of operating and announced temples in Utah.

6. Church Aid Continues to Arrive in Haiti - News Release

SALT LAKE CITY 18 January 2010 Shipments of relief aid from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints arrived in Haiti over the weekend, including a large shipment of 85,000 pounds of supplies from Miami. SALT LAKE CITY 13 January 2010 The Church released the following statement this morning regarding the earthquake in Haiti: We express our sympathy and prayers on behalf of the citizens of Haiti following the recent devastating earthquake. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is immediately shipping humanitarian relief, including personal hygiene kits and supplies for newborns.
