Australian Mormons Donate Four Tons of Food to Needy Families
“Despite the economic boom, there are many families in need,” Genevieve de Souza, Western Australian president of the St Vincent de Paul Society said at the hand-over ceremony. “Charitable organizations have to turn needy people away for the lack of food donations.”
“The central aim of our involvement is to make families stronger,” said senior Latter-day Saint leader Peter Meurs. “That involves families giving and families receiving.”
