Family Food Supply Part of Being Prepared for Tough Times

SALT LAKE CITY 8 July 2009 A recent story in the Washington Post tells of one woman’s experience of using one of the home storage centers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) to prepare a reserve of dry-packed food for her family. For decades leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have encouraged Mormons to have a reasonable supply of food on hand for unforeseen times of need and emergencies. The Church operates over 100 storage centers to help facilitate this.

This practice and other welfare principles and programs taught and provided by the Church have gained the attention of the news media recently due to the current state of the economy.
