Hurricane Katrina Relief Continues
- To date, Church volunteers have provided more than 42,000 man days.
- 200 semi trucks of supplies have been sent to affected areas
- 70,000 kitchen sets were assembled by Church volunteers and then shipped in FEMA trailers
- Church volunteers put together 40,000 linen sets
- Church volunteers continue to help rebuild homes and buildings
After the hurricane, approximately 600 evacuees were brought to
Utah. Today, about 300 remain. Some of those families now living in Utah received an outpouring of support
from their new community. CBS Evening News
reported on how those families have found a second chance in a place they now call home.
