Family History Presented to President Barack Obama by Church President Thomas S. Monson
20 July 2009President Barack Obama was presented with five large leather-bound volumes today by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that detail his family history going back multiple generations covering hundreds of years. Recognizing the president and first lady's deep regard for family, I am honored that our church can have any part in documenting their family history.” The Church has also presented personal histories to other U.S. presidents, including Presidents George W. Community Joins Hands for African-American Family History Open House
22 January 2004SALT LAKE CITY — Bishop Willie Dunn Jr. of the Worldwide Gospel Church will be the keynote speaker at this year's African-American Family History Open House at the Family History Library on Saturday, 7 February, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In honor of Black History Month, Bishop Dunn will share his experiences discovering his own family roots. The purpose of the open house is to share with the African-American community the tremendous resources available for free at the library to assist them with their family history research," said Ray Wright, director of the Family History Library.Full Story
Family History Library Celebrates 110-Year Roots
